Neurofeedback is an alternative therapy to use for improving focus, attention, memory and reducing issues like anxiety and depression.  With less complex cases clients may choose to do only neurofeedback, for instance those with ADD/ADHD.  For more complex issues clients may use neurofeedback as an adjunct to traditional talk therapy.

ADD/ADHD

Living with ADD/ADHD is frustrating for everyone involved. Many parents and children are unhappy with the medications that are used to treat the symptoms of ADD/ADHD.

The CNC offers a non-medical option called neurofeedback training for dealing with ADD/ADHD. Neurofeedback training rewards scalp EEG frequencies (the electrical signals the brain puts out) that are associated with relaxed attention, and suppresses frequencies associated with under -or over- arousal.

With consistent training, individuals learn to maintain the optimal brain pattern needed to alleviate or eliminate the symptoms of ADD/ADHD.

Depression

Depression can hit anyone at anytime. It might be related to an event, like a loss of a loved one or loss of a job, or it might not be clear how or when it started. Depression affects an individual’s concentration, motivation, self-care, social engagement, work and education. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidenced base therapy proven to help alleviate depression. Some individuals can benefit from a combination of CBT and EEG Biofeedback. At the CNC we are here to help you get better.
